The Environmental Industrial Policy Centre with Ricardo Energy & Environment held a workshop «Energy Efficiency Instruments for Industrial Enterprises and Main Challenges During the Transition to Best Available Techniques» in Moscow State University of Food Production. The event was attended by over 50 participants, mostly – University teachers, MSc and PhD students and researchers.

The workshop was officially opened by:

  • Mikhail Balykhin, Rector of Moscow State University of Food Industries
  • Yuri Babin, the Deputy Rector (Research) of the Moscow State University of Food Industries
  • Alla Strelukhina, Head of the Department for Resource-Saving Processes and Food Production Technologies

Prof. Mikhail Balykhin delivered a speech devoted to the development of modern energy and resource efficient processes for Russian food & drinks industries.

The overview of the UK energy efficiency policy in food and drinks sector was presented by Ricardo’s Jonathan Perks and commented by Marianna Budaragina who also contributed to the discussion by describing main concept for developing and testing energy efficiency enhancement instruments and promoting corporate climate leadership in selected Russian industrial sectors.

Prof. Tatiana Guseva ran a discussion on regulatory comparison of BAT-related legislation and emerging legal acts on greenhouse gas emissions.
